Its the toy story of action sports… Love a little story line to go with it! Two years in the making, street trials rider Danny MacAskill releases his brand new riding film. Whilst previous projects have focused on locations and and journey’s, MacAskill’s Imaginate sees Danny take a completely different approach to riding. Enter Danny’s mind and enjoy. http://imaginate.redbull.com/videos/riding_film

Beautiful work from the guys over at BL:ND. Looks like alot of fun mixing media. Such a smooth animation that fits perfectly with the awesome track by The Raveonettes.
Interesting to check out the creative process that Chris Do and the Blind team went through to get to the final result:

Also worth looking aroung their site, some great work.
Great initiative from friends of ours to help promote awareness into ocean pollution. Nicely shot and graded giving the video a very dark and powerful feeling.

On the same note as the “How to kill a chocolate bunny post” I really dig the art direction in this film clip for Metronomy – Radio Ladio. Has a real minimalistic appeal. How long will the first wave of 80’s inspiration last. Surely we are on the dying end of it?
Directed by Daniel Brereton and edited by Matt Dollings.
Love the painted sets , props and lighting combo, well art direction in general.
I wish the melting tool eg hair dryer was locked still throughout though.
Could really use this technique applied to different meltable/blow up able things.
For some reason this really freaks some people out?
Awesome Idea, as Dave says in the quote below it took them 8000 balloons! A Lot of work. I personally would love to see such project done with a cleaner background, possibly all white, pool painted sky blue and skater in plain bright colors…would look amazing visually. How long before a major skate brand copies this idea? Can it be adapted in any way? Anyways, Nice work to davetheknave.
“I had this idea for a while to fill a skate bowl with balloons and try to ride through them. It seemed like the chances of it working were slim. I figured they might make your wheels stop. We finally tried it anyways and as you can see from this video we made of Matt Beach, it worked just fine. The popping sounds are not added in. That is the real audio of balloons popping. it took over 3 hours to blow up nearly 8000 balloons using 2 air compressors to get it full enough. location- department of skateboarding, Portland, OR.”
