‘Troika’ Sculpture for British Airways Lounge

How sick does this look? And you can program the sculpture to make different patterns and different sounds when the metal discs flip. I’m presuming it has a relation to pixels in themselves, and having a value of one or zero, or something like that. Check out the making of on their site.

Balloon Bowl

Awesome Idea, as Dave says in the quote below it took them 8000 balloons! A Lot of work. I personally would love to see such project done with a cleaner background, possibly all white, pool painted sky blue and skater in plain bright colors…would look amazing visually. How long before a major skate brand copies this idea? Can it be adapted in any way? Anyways, Nice work to davetheknave.

“I had this idea for a while to fill a skate bowl with balloons and try to ride through them. It seemed like the chances of it working were slim. I figured they might make your wheels stop. We finally tried it anyways and as you can see from this video we made of Matt Beach, it worked just fine. The popping sounds are not added in. That is the real audio of balloons popping. it took over 3 hours to blow up nearly 8000 balloons using 2 air compressors to get it full enough. location- department of skateboarding, Portland, OR.”
